A PRODUCTION OF STOCKTON CIVIC THEATRE’S SCT, JR.
In 2008, young people ages seven through high school age are invited
to participate in a summer production of Seussical, Jr., a charming
musical based on the characters of Dr. Seuss. “After all those years
being stuck on a page, Did you ever imagine you’d see me onstage?”
So says the mischievous Cat in the Hat at the onset of this
fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! In this delightful show,
Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty have lovingly brought to life all
of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant,
Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie, and all of the Whos of Whoville! The
score emerges as a Seussian Gumbo of musical styles, ranging from
Latin to pop, swing to gospel, and R&B to funk! So let your toes
tap, your fingers snap, and you’re imagination run wild for “Oh, the
thinks you can think, when you think about Seuss!”
In SCT’s annual youth summer program, students practice acting,
singing, dancing, and learn all the other skills necessary for
performing. Domineé Muller-Kimball, Ed.D., will serve as Director
and Judy Caruso Williamson as Choreographer. Paul Kimball is Musical
Director.
Performances are on July 24-27. Call the Box Office at 209.473.2424
for times and seat availabiliy. Tickets are $10 each. |
